Q: How do we find out what equipment will best suit our needs?
A: We can provide advice on all your telco needs. Talk to us about what you are hoping to achieve and we will advise you on the options available. With the fast moving nature of telco technology it is important that you get the best advice so that your investment has longevity.
Q: Where do we buy telco equipment at the best price?
A: We can supply only or supply and install telco equipment. Depending on the equipment, we may have gear in stock (either used or new). We have good relationships with a range of suppliers.
Q: How do you charge?
A: It depends on the job but we can either give a quote for a completed project or charge on a time and materials basis. For jobs that run over several months, we require progress payments based on work completed.
Q: We want to make sure we are getting the best performance from our network. How can you help?
A: We can do an audit of your network and give you advice on ways in which your equipment can be rearranged to improve its performance. We can also advise you on how to minimise risks and to provide diversity.
Q: We have installed some dark fibre. What tests can you provide?
A: There are several reasons why fibre may have a degraded performance. Dispersion and attenuation limit how much data can be transported on a single fibre. The results from our spectrum analyser will highlight any discrepancies. We have the hardware and the expertise to test fibres up to 10Gbps. See our case study.
Q: We are an ISP wanting to install equipment in a Telecom Exchange or cabinet. How do we organise this?
A: We are very experienced in working with Telecom and can arrange for all reservations, permits and installations. We have a mobile workforce that installs equipment throughout New Zealand. See our case study.
Q: What checks do you provide?
A: Depends on specific project requirements:
- Commissioning tests and results for all telco equipment installations
- Producer statements provided for build projects
- Checklists ensure QA standards are adhered to
Q: We are an ISP that requires equipment to be installed in a number of sites in NZ with different network providers. How do we organise this?
A: Leave it to us. We work with all the major telco companies in NZ and we frequently have projects that involve different companies in different areas. We know their processes and standards and will deal with them directly.
Q: We have equipment to be installed in both the North and South Islands. Would it be more cost effective for us to contract with local companies?
A: We complete work throughout New Zealand and price very competitively. Where possible, we pre-fit the equipment prior to transporting to site; this allows us to be very efficient. Completion of a project will usually depend on a number of sites being installed; dealing with multiple companies will be complicated and may delay the project.
